Steve and Mary celebrated 45 years of marriage with an anniversary session at Lincoln City Beach, Oregon. These two must have all the answers, because 45 years later they are still madly in love and clearly keeping the romance alive!
It’s a joy to listen to Mary tell stories of their love. She laughed as she shared their proposal, she said Steve made her a dinner of liver and onions. “Then, not facing me, but standing behind me, asked me to marry him. I think he was not sure enough of himself to face me.”
We all agreed that incorporating yellow roses into their session was an absolute must, it was the flower they used 45 years ago in their wedding. Steve lovingly knelt down on one knee and presented his wife with two long stem yellow roses. It was such a tender and sentimental moment for all of us. I absolutely love when clients personalize their sessions! It makes them that much more meaningful!
Did you just say, “awww!”? I know I did! This is such a sweet and memory for them to look back on.
With their great love of walking and nature, it made perfect sense to photograph their session at Lincoln City Beach, a city they have grown to love for many years. I love helping a couple choose the right location that represents their relationship and who they are so that their anniversary session even more meaningful and sentimental.
Steve and Mary are passionate wanderers, and have visited most of the Western States as well as locations including Georgia, Tennessee, North and South Carolina, Vancouver island Canada’s, Victoria and Hawaii. As well as locations abroad most notably, Fiji for their 25th anniversary.
Steve and Mary have such a zest for life, and traveling. Lincoln City is a favorite location for them as Steve is an avid hiker. For the past two years, he has successfully hiked from Canada to Willamette Pass on the Pacific Crest Trail. This summer, he will retrace his steps on the Washington Trail. Mary told me even tho her mobility isn’t the best these days she still managed to walk 250 miles since they arrived in Oregon this year, what a great accomplishment.
This couple really knows how to celebrate their love and I was so honored and grateful to be a part of commemorating their 45 years milestone with this unforgettable anniversary session
